So, what is your pelvic floor?
Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles and connective tissue, acting like a hammock to lift and support your pelvic organs, including your bladder, uterus and bowel. When there is a dysfunction in your pelvic floor muscles, such as weakness, tearing or sensation deficits, you can experience a lack of control or coordination in how your pelvic organs function.
An assessment with a pelvic health physiotherapist can include a thorough examination of your pelvic floor muscles and organs, plus a thorough history taking. We will provide you with appropriate management and education strategies to help you with your symptoms to get you back to what you like doing best.
